We kicked off in Pre\u0161ov before moving on to Gr\u00f3dek nad Dunajcem in Poland. The reason? To share the unique contributions each FLOPRES member brings to the table, fostering a collaborative environment where we all can thrive from our collective expertise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Increased use of land and water, lack of adequate adaptation strategies, and climate change are leading to higher risks of water-related incidents. These include landslides and flash floods. Although the approach to water management has changed in the last decade and new technologies for flood risk prevention have been introduced, recurring floods point to shortcomings in predicting these risks and endangered areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is why the FLOPRES project, funded by the European Union LIFE program, aims to develop and implement a comprehensive early warning system for flash floods. In collaboration with our partners, we&#8217;re developing additional sensors to broaden the FLOPRES project&#8217;s horizons:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>FlowSense<\/strong>: Keeps tabs on surface runoff in small streams.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>HydroCam<\/strong>: An optical sensor that captures snapshots of the current environmental state.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>SNOW Sensor<\/strong>: Measures the height of snow cover.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Why are we excited about our digital infrastructure?
